One And Done Staff Picks Overview
Here at RotoBaller, we are always searching for ways to give our readers the best fantasy sports content possible. With that goal in mind, we are very proud to announce the weekly PGA “One and Done” column will be back for a third season.
In this feature, our golf staff of Joe Nicely, Spencer Aguiar, Andrew Putters and Josh Bennett will provide their weekly golf picks every Wednesday. The purpose of this article is to present you with alternative options to consider and hopefully make your selection a much easier process weekly. With that plan in mind, let's get started!
For an in-depth breakdown of the top DraftKings and FanDuel plays, check out Joe Nicely's weekly Horse For The Course that highlights the best fits for the week's course. And you can also find out who the smart money is on by checking out Spencer Aguiar's PGA DFS: Vegas Report every week. One and Done Selections - Honda Classic
Joe Nicely - Joaquin Niemann
Alternate - Shane Lowry
Well...last week’s PLAYERS Championship turned out to be a CERTIFIED DISASTER for little ol’ me, as not only did my choice, Webb Simpson, miss the cut, but Spencer’s selection, Justin Thomas, had to go and win the tournament. It is undoubtedly a huge blow to the mini-comeback I had been mounting over the last couple of weeks and forces me into catchup mode immediately.
Without any consideration to what the other guys are doing this week at the Honda Classic, I’ll be going with the best player on the board that’s still available to me. In my (very humble) opinion, that is Joaquin Niemann. The youngster hasn’t fared great at PGA National in two previous trips, but his stats indicate his short game has improved dramatically in 2021. I feel that’s the missing ingredient for Niemann on this golf course, as the 22-year-old consistently brings elite ball striking to the table.

Spencer Aguiar - Sungjae Im
Alternate - Talor Gooch
Justin Thomas secured the biggest purse of the year for me at the Players Championship, helping to turn around what had been a cold stretch of OAD totals since our win with Daniel Berger at Pebble Beach. Unfortunately, I couldn't extend any terrain between Andrew and myself, as he was on the same wavelength as I was with his stout selection of the American.
While I feel like I am in a good spot moving forward, my player list is much more condensed than anyone else in the contest. I will have to be strategic with my choices for the time being, and I feel as if Sungjae Im is the perfect route for me to go if I am looking for safety
Im is a Bermuda specialist that will be getting his last crack on the surface until the Valspar in late April, and it feels like an ideal situation to target the defending champion of the event. We saw the tournament made even weaker after Daniel Berger was forced to withdraw with a rib injury, and it appears to be an ideal spot to deploy the South Korean.
Yearly Earnings - $6,018,288
Yearly Cuts Made - 9/10
Josh Bennett - Russell Henley
Alternate - Adam Scott
At this point, I think all I need is just someone to make a cut to be satisfied. What a brutal start to this competition. This tournament couldn’t be built any better for Russell Henley, so I’m not going to think twice about it. You need to have great scrambling abilities and it’s extra helpful if you have great irons, both of which he is extremely good at. His course history shows that to be true, with a win and a number of other top-25 finishes. Honestly, that’s as far as I need to go with my OAD research for the week. It’s Russell Henley week, don’t think about it, just play him.
Yearly Earnings - $232,500
Yearly Cuts Made - 6/10
Andrew Putters - Sungjae Im
Alternate - Adam Scott
I know it is not always a good idea to play the defending champion, but Sungjae really is the cream of the crop in this field. I’ve already played Daniel Berger and there are also rumors that he might have a minor hip injury coming into this week. We know Berger isn’t scared to withdraw from a tournament. Sungjae does everything on the golf course very well. He doesn’t seem to have much of any weakness in any part of his game. Plus, this week is going to be about survival and making the fewest mistakes. This will be a tough test for even the best players in the world. I’m expecting Im to go back to back this week.
Yearly Earnings - $3,640,140
