Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox - Yesterday's Recap

Welcome to the Friday, September 6th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.

Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.

In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 6th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers received five total writing awards and 13 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, tops in the industry! Congrats to all the award winners and nominees including Best MLB Series, NFL Series, NBA Writer, PGA Writer and Player Notes writer of the year. Be sure to follow their analysis, rankings and advice all year long, and win big with RotoBaller! Read More!

Daily Musings

  • Mike Trout doesn’t like seeing the kids get lonely. Joins Pete Alonso at 45.
  • Ronald Acuna eating his combo meal(37/34) in front of petrified 40/40 bouncer.
  • His first-half stats will look like child’s play when Bryce Harper is done.
  • J.T. Realmuto exhibits no disgust when smacking 22nd long ball.
  • MACHO, MACHO MAN!!! Eugenio Suarez gotta be a macho man. 41st display of might.
  • Reynaldo Lopez despises predictability. “You won’t start me vs. CLE? Ok.” Complete-game one-hitter, 11K.
  • Need power but no AVG at SS. Paul DeJong is a contender. 4HR, 13RBI last 15 games. .229AVG.
  • Ground-ballers gonna groundball & win. Dakota Hudson w/3.40ERA (4.94FIP). 6.9%K-BB. 15W thanks to 57%GB rate. Still can’t believe it.
  • Any Logan Webb owners need a tissue? 2.2IP, 7ER, 2K.
  • Thievery continues. One out of two ain't bad for Adalberto Mondesi (36).
  • Matthew Boyd gets a rare W(eight).
  • A.J. Puk w/first big-league win. He didn’t have to start for it.
  • Right on time. Nick Solak loves him some Camden Yards. 404ft Monster Jam(two).
  • Steals come in surprising packages. 37-year-old Shin-Soo Choo provides 12 for your enjoyment.
  • Jon Berti keeps runnin, runnin, runnin. No, not steals. Runs(four).
  • Well, I’ll be. Bryan Reynolds just might get to 20 taters. Still running for the batting title(.333AVG is 2nd).
  • Josh Bell won’t touch first-half numbers. He can improve upon 9HR, .237AVG though.
  • Welcome back, Ben Zobrist. Five runs in two games. Well done.
  • Jose Quintana w/dirty W. 5IP, 4ER.
  • Power & AVG on full display 13HR (ties first-half total) & .322AVG makes second-half dreamy for Mookie Betts.
  • Bo’s Bonanza! Two sunshine-state delights (10) for Bo Bichette.
  • P.S. If this is Austin (Meadows), we still love you. 27HR, 10SB, .284AVG.
  • Craig Kimbrel injury brings Pedro Strop back as an option.
  • It’s been a long road. We’ve been up & down. Tommy Pham still gets you 20/20 w/.280.
  • Lest we forget, Victor Robles is only 22 years old. 17HR, 24SB, .251AVG is enticing for 2020 prospects.
  • Max Fried had to beat Stephen Strasburg (stop saying that!) to join the 16W club.
  • Kyle Tucker long-arms his first major-league homer. Playing time could lead to more power/speed.
  • Austin Nola(9) & Kyle Seager (21) pops a couple of fireworks apiece to attempt to outshine the Astros.
  • Have a great Friday. How many actually left baseball to watch that football game last night? Enjoy all your decisions.
  • No Fear, Just Fantasy.
