2 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays placed third baseman Cavan Biggio on the COVID-related injured list on Monday. The team called up right-handed pitcher Bowden Francis in a corresponding move. There's no word yet as to what caused Biggio to be placed on the injured list. Perhaps the Blue Jays interpreted his 1-for-23 start to the year as a COVID-19 symptom. Francis, meanwhile, is rated as the team's No. 15 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline. The 26-year-old has yet to appear in the majors. Last year, he went 13-7 with a 3.93 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP over 132.2 innings split between Double-A and Triple-A.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
