6 years agoTop New York Yankees prospect Gleyber Torres remains day-to-day with lower back stiffness, missing the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders game Tuesday. The 21-year-old infielder is reportedly on the cusp of a major league promotion as he excels in the minors while the Yankees struggle early on this season. Through 11 games this year, Torres is hitting .366 with a home run and 10 RBI. The club could definitely use him either at third base or second base, but with Torres needing to play just one more game in the minors for another year of club control over him, it makes sense to not promote him immediately. He should return to action Wednesday night.--RDelgado
