6 years agoThe Boston Celtics have agreed to sign center Greg Monroe after the Phoenix Suns decided to buy him out of his contract. The Celtics, who have been looking for a scoring punch off the bench, will turn to Monroe. He might end up nabbing some starts if he can outplay Aron Baynes, but the Celtics are known for tailoring their lineups to the competition. Monroe could be in line for more consistency compared to the carousel that Phoenix employed, but don’t expect consistent starts from the veteran big man. Optimistically, expect Monroe to get 20 minutes per game. He will also likely take minutes from Daniel Theis and to a lesser degree, Marcus Morris.--Jared Hong
