Ketel Marte Not In Lineup On Sunday

4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte will be getting his second day of rest this week as he is not part of the team's starting lineup on Sunday against the San Francisco Giants. Marte previously sat on Thursday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Prior to Thursday's game, Marte had only received one game off all year, so while it's surprising to see him have two games off in a short period, he was certainly due for a bit of a breather. Marte has hit .307 this year and has just 19 strikeouts over 38 games, however, his power numbers are way down from last year's breakout season. After hitting 32 home runs last year, Marte has gone yard just twice so far this year. Hopefully, he'll find his power stroke again during the season's final stretch.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
