4 years agoOakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman (hip) will miss his fifth straight game on Thursday while he continues to deal with hip tendonitis. Chad Pinder is getting the start at third base and is hitting eight on Thursday. Athletics manager Bob Melvin has been insistent that Chapman won't require a stint on the injured list and that the team is treating his injury day-to-day. The Athletics open up a four-game series with the Texas Rangers on Friday, including a doubleheader on Saturday. Hopefully, Chapman will be able to return sometime in that stretch.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
