Jordan Spieth A Good Option
2 years agoJordan Spieth is currently projected to be low-owned compared to others priced around him. Spieth has 14 measured rounds at TPC River Highlands, and he ranks sixth in the field in DraftKings points. Spieth had a modest U.S. Open, finishing in 37th place. However, he was battling a stomach bug earlier in the week. Before the U.S. Open, Spieth gained strokes from tee-to-green in five straight events. Finally, with the majority of approach shots coming from 150-175 yards, Spieth ranks 14th in the field in proximity from that distance over the last 24 rounds.Source: PGA Tour
Rory Mcllroy In Great Form
2 years agoRory McIlroy has now recorded five top-10 finishes in his last six starts. McIlroy recently won The Canadian Open. He did so by gaining 14.2 strokes from tee-to-green and 6.5 strikes on approach. McIlroy was also in contention at The U.S. Open but had to settle for a fifth-place finish. Mcllroy has been in top form. He has not lost strokes from tee-to-green since the tour championship last year. While he will carry some ownership, it is hard to ignore his form. McIlroy is in play in all formats this week.Source: PGA Tour
Tony Finau Heads To Connecticut In Good Form
2 years agoTony Finau is in good form heading to the Travelers Championship this week in Cromwell, CT. Despite missing the cut last week at the US Open, the 32-year-old has all parts of his game clicking. Prior to last week Finau finished runner up at the RBC Canadian Open, T4 at the Charles Schwab and 30th at the PGA Championship. Over that stretch of events, the Arizona native gained strokes across all major stat categories. Finau has been a mixed bag at this event with three missed cuts and three top-25 finishes. Given his form heading in, a top-25 seems likely again this week. Source: PGA Tour
Patrick Cantlay Looks To Continue Success At Travelers
2 years agoPatrick Cantlay has four straight top-15 finishes at the Travelers Championship. He also shot a 60 at TPC River Highlands as an amateur while he was still attending UCLA. The 30-year-old loves this venue and is coming in playing some great golf. In his last four stroke play events Cantlay has a T14 at the US Open, T3 at the Memorial and a runner up finish at the RBC Heritage. He also won the team play Zurich Classic event in late April. While the former Bruin may be popular this week, he figures to be in contention come Sunday. Source: PGA Tour
Keith Mitchell Playing Very Well Heading To Travelers
2 years agoKeith Mitchell has been playing some quality golf of late. The last time he teed it up, he recorded a seventh-place finish at the RBC Canadian Open. He has made the cut in nine of his last 10 events, recording six top-20 finishes during that time. A lot of things have been working well for Mitchell lately, especially his putter. He has gained strokes putting in five of his last six events and has gained at least 1.7 strokes putting in his last three starts. With the big names at the top of this field, Mitchell will probably go overlooked in DFS. He is priced in the mid-range in most formats and doesn't appear to be attracting much ownership. Mitchell is a great DFS option and could be a solid leverage play in a field with some big-time players.Source: https://www.pgatour.com/
Aaron Wise In Top Form Entering Travelers Championship
2 years agoLast week was another great week for Aaron Wise. He finished 27th at the U.S. Open, his career-best finish at the event. With that result, he also extended his made-cut streak to six events. Wise has been playing some great golf, gaining strokes from tee-to-green in nine straight events. After struggling with his putting earlier in his career, Wise has figured it out on the greens. He has gained strokes putting in four of his last five events and is now an average putter by PGA Tour standards. Wise has played the Travelers Championship the past two seasons, making the cut both times. The strong field at TPC River Highlands should result in lower ownership for Wise, who is moderately priced in most formats. Wise is playing some very good golf and is a threat to contend this week.Source: https://www.pgatour.com/
Sungjae Im Aims To Bounce Back At Travelers Championship
2 years agoIt was a tough week last week for Sungjae Im. The 24-year-old missed the cut at the U.S. Open, ending his six-event made-cut streak. It was a disappointing result for Im, who was expected to contend at The Country Club. Despite the missed cut, Im is still one of the most complete players on tour, ranking eighth in this field in strokes gained from tee-to-green over the past 50 rounds. He is one of the best short-game players in the world, ranking third on the PGA Tour in scrambling this season. Im has played the Travelers twice before, making the cut both times he has teed it up at TPC River Highlands. He is one of the higher-priced players in DFS, and after his performance last week, he could fly under the radar. There are a lot of top players playing this week, so that should help to curb the ownership on Im. He is a good DFS play and is worth a look for an outright bet.Source: https://www.pgatour.com/
Marc Leishman Looks To Continue His Success
2 years agoMarc Leishman heads to Hartford fresh off a fantastic showing at the U.S. Open. He finished 14th at The Country Club, marking his best result at a U.S. Open. He has played well at all three majors so far this season, placing no worse than 30th. This could be the start of a good stretch of golf for Leishman. He has played well at TPC River Highlands, winning the event back in 2012 and posting a third-place finish in 2021. He is one of the best putters on tour, ranking 12th in strokes gained putting this season. The field at the Travelers is loaded, which has resulted in a discounted price for Leishman in DFS and on the betting market. He is very comfortable at this course and is playing some solid golf right now. Leishman is a great DFS option and is worth a look for an outright bet.Source: https://www.pgatour.com/
Davis Riley Quietly Playing Extremely Well
2 years agoSince the Zurich Classic in late April, Davis Riley has been one of the best, and most consistent players on the PGA Tour. Riley has finished top-10 in four of his last seven starts, top-13 in six of his last seven, and hasn't missed a cut since early April. A reason for the success, Riley sits inside the top-75 in five of the six major strokes gained categories. Riley is very consistent off the tee, on approach, and on the greens. The only weakness in his game comes around the greens. However, Riley sits 45th in strokes gained total, highlighting the fact he doesn't struggle in many areas. Even with his play, Riley has an undervalued DFS price this week. Riley should be considered in all contests this week, with incredible upside. Source: PGA Tour
Xander Schauffele Playing Well Heading To Travelers
2 years agoMake it five straight top-20 finishes for Xander Schauffele after a T14 at the U.S. Open, which could have been much higher if it wasn't for a five-over 75 third round. With the finish, Schauffele notched his 13th made cut in 15 starts this season. This week, Schauffele returns to a place he has two top-20 finishes in his last three starts, which is the Travelers Championship. In terms of DFS, Schauffele will be one of the top-five most expensive players in the field. However, Schauffele has one of the highest floors in the field this week. Top-20 or better is likely for Schauffele this week, as he should pay off his DFS price this week.Source: PGA Tour
Joaquin Niemann A Strong Option This Week
2 years agoJoaquin Niemann arrives in Brookline, MA, in excellent form ball-striking wise. In his last start at The Memorial, he gained 6.3 strokes on approach and 8.7 from tee-to-green. Niemann had a strong Sunday at Jacks Place but ultimately could not catch Billy Horschel. The winner of the Genesis Invitational earlier this year, Niemann is a fine option in DFS. While he may garner some ownership, it appears he won't be highly owned. He is a recommended play in all formats.Source: PGA Tour
Shane Lowry Looks To Contend At The Country Club
2 years agoShane Lowry has put together an impressive season so far this year. Although he has not won yet this year, he has recorded three top-five place finishes. In his last start, he finished in 10th place at The Canadian Open. Lowry gained strokes in every key metric except putting last week. His fine form makes Lowry an attractive option in DFS this week. Lastly, his best U.S. Open finish is a second-place finish in 2016. Lowry will also figure to be highly owned. Source: PGA Tour
Max Homa A Strong Option At U.S. Open
2 years agoMax Homa is a strong option in both betting and DFS this week at The Country Club. The four-time PGA Tour winner is having the best year of his career and enters with his game in great form. The 31-year-old has four straight top-25 finishes including a win at the Wells Fargo and a top-five finish at the Memorial in his last start. Homa has gained strokes off the tee, on approach and putting in all four of these starts. He has also now gained strokes around the green in back-to-back starts. The Cal grad finally ended his bad stretch at majors with a 13th place finish at the PGA Championship last month. Look for him be in contention this weekend. Source: Fantasy National
Dustin Johnson Looks To Add To U.S. Open Success
2 years agoDustin Johnson has had a disappointing season by his standards on the course. However, the new face of LIV Golf heads to the US Open where he has had tremendous success over the years. The 37-year-old won the 2016 US Open and has five top-six finishes in his last eight US Open appearances. Johnson has had a rough year with the putter, ranking 158th on the season during his time with the PGA Tour. He will need to turn that around this week if he wishes to contend. There are many distractions DJ will face this week; however, he could be a nice value play if you have faith in his event history. Source: PGA Tour
Abraham Ancer Must Improve Ball-Striking To Contend
2 years agoAbraham Ancer will play his fourth U.S. Open this week. His best finish at this event is a 49th place finish in 2019. Ancer missed the cut last year losing strokes in every key metric except on approach. Ancer's will need to improve his recently approach play if he wants to contend in Brookline. The Mexico native has lost strokes on approach in four of his last five events. With his poor history at this event and current form, it may be best to fade Ancer and look for other options.
