2 years agoThe Houston Astros designated relief pitcher Pedro Baez for assignment on Tuesday. Fellow reliever Seth Martinez was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Baez was off to a rough start to the 2022 season, allowing six runs (three earned) over 2.1 innings. Martinez, meanwhile, had been struggling a bit at Triple-A. Over six relief appearances, he had a 5.40 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP. We wouldn't expect to see him in many high-leverage situations for the team.
