One and Done Selections - Houston Open
Joe Nicely - Brooks Koepka
Alternate - Russell Henley
Oh what a tangled web we weave...I started the week with no interest in the Presidential Election or Brooks Koepka, but here we are on Wednesday and I’m fascinated by both.
While I’ve already cast my vote in one, I’ll leave my OAD ballot here with you guys and fill in the box beside BK’s name. This has been a very weird year (that’s the understatement of the century) and Koepka is a golfer that I’ve kept in my pocket to use in one of the major championships. However, due to Koepka’s form and injuries, the schedule shuffle, and a “go with my heart” selection of Collin Morikawa at the PGA Championship...I still have the king available to me as the season winds down.
I’m gonna hope for the type of performance we saw from Koepka at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude in the run-up to the PGA Championship. Our guy should be attempting to peak as he’s staring his last chance for a 2020 major win in the face and he will have a chance to work on his game at a Memorial Park layout on which he consulted with Tom Doak for last year’s redesign and can bomb away with the driver.

Before COVID-19 changed the landscape of the OAD contest here at RotoBaller, I was on pace to win BIGLY. Unfortunately, it was a tough break for us when we had months removed from the schedule, and it didn't help matters that swing totals from Collin Morikawa and Daniel Berger came in at over a $3,000,000 rate for Joe.
Look, I have sat back ideally throughout the year and haven't said much, but I can not let our voices be suppressed any longer. We need to count all the money in 2020 before calling this contest over, which includes the RSM Classic and Mayakoba Championship that will occur after Augusta. Those are not currently tournaments that are being projected into the forecast, and we can't have a fair democracy at the company if we don't let every event on the schedule count.
The establishment knows that Bryson DeChambeau is coming to close this gap to a few hundred thousand at the Masters, and they are doing everything in their power to hide money in a back room. Do not let them steal this competition from us. Let your voice be heard! - AGUIAR 2020.

Josh Bennett - Tyrrell Hatton
Alternate - Cameron Davis
I definitely can’t catch Joe, and running out of hope to catch Spencer. One great player (in theory) this week, and a wild card next week are my only chances left. A new course this week that looks like it will test ball-striking and favor some long hitting, so I’m looking in that general area in the player pool I have left. I decided on Tyrrell mostly because he has been a great ball-striker, but to be honest he’s just doing everything good right now and that makes him safe for me to start part 1 of 2 of the 2nd place comeback.
He’s a pretty safe pick in the field in general that has just a few other studs, but the issue is motivation heading into the Masters next week. The reason I think he’s safer than others is because of how good his game is right now. He’s likely not playing to knock off rust or fine-tune swing issues since he’s already playing at such a high level. Hopefully he comes in firing with a really nice finish to bring some positive momentum into the Masters next week. I could really use it!
