One and Done Selections - John Deere Classic
Joe Nicely - Brooks Koepka
Alternate - Shane Lowry
Nothing fancy here, as I expect Brooks Koepka will be a popular option for those that still have him available in OAD contests. It came down to Koepka or Rahm for me in the U.S. Open - I’d already decided I’d be using the other one here - with Rahm ultimately being my final decision at Torrey (Yay!). Koepka feels like a world-class consolation prize for me here. He came up through the ranks on the European Challenge Tour, a background that created a unique comfortability with links golf for an American-born player. It shows in his Open results, as he’s made the cut in five of his last six starts in golf’s oldest major with top-10s in three of his last four appearances. I expect his patience and mental toughness to play a key role this week and wouldn’t be surprised if he’s once again firmly in the mix in a major championship.
Barbasol Championship
Pick - Stephan Jaeger
Yearly Earnings - $5,932,095
Yearly Cuts Made - 24/27

Spencer Aguiar - Brooks Koepka
Alternate - Adam Scott
I have one big decision to be made. Do I want to play Brooks Koepka at the Open Championship or the WGC in a few weeks?
That was an answer that wasn't easy for me to come by, as Koepka's history at Southwind has been nothing short of magnificent. I think there is some merit that the reverse decision might have been the more prudent play, but how can we ignore what the American has done in his career at major championships?
Since 2016, Koepka is 84-under par in majors, 63 shots better than his closest competitors of Dustin Johnson and Xander Schauffele. That is good enough for me to deploy the big-game hunter in the final major of the season, but it will leave me with nothing but scraps for the final seven events of the year. Here's to Koepka giving me one final big push across the finish line.
Barbasol Championship
Pick - Seamus Power
Alternate - Luke List
Seamus is a star in good fields...he is a superstar in this one!
Yearly Earnings - $8,046,638
Yearly Cuts Made - 23/27
Josh Bennett - Brooks Koepka
Alternate - Louis Oosthuizen
It’s the last major of the year and I was able to hold off on the major killer until the end when he is looking his healthiest. There’s no need to dive into any stats on Brooks or look at his recent form or anything (although his recent form is quite good). He’s proven over time that he is just going to show up for majors and contend no matter what kind of form he’s in or what kind of course it is. We can expect that again this week because… that’s just what he does (unless there happens to be some weird injury). If you really need a stat to talk yourself into Brooks, here is the one that matters, courtesy of Justin Ray (@JustinRayGolf on Twitter): Brooks’ score to par in majors since 2016 is -84. The next closest is Dustin Johnson at -21. Seems like a pretty obvious pick to me.
Barbasol Championship
Pick - Grayson Sigg
Alternate - Vincent Whaley
Yearly Earnings - $4,101,271
Yearly Cuts Made - 20/27
Andrew Putters - Brooks Koepka
Alternate - Xander Schauffele
BIG GAME HUNTER!! I’m saving my guns until the end of this OAD Staff League. It seems like since his first Major Victory in the 2017 US Open, every Major Championship has gone through him. In his last 15 major championship appearances, he has 4 victories, 3 runners up, 3 additional top 5s, 2 additional top 10s, and while only missing 1 cut. His #1 asset to these finishes has to be bogey avoidance. This will be a key ingredient for strong play in the 2021 Open Championship.
Barbasol Championship
Pick - Stephan Jaeger
Alternate - Sam Ryder
Yearly Earnings - $5,853,599
Yearly Cuts Made - 22/27
