Welcome to the September 10th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 9th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Mookie Betts just missed Nelson Cruz drop off an edible arrangement w/14 of Teoscar Hernandez's favorite things before setting off to join Fernando Tatis Jr. and Mike Trout. Betts, without a gift, but not heartless, recited 14 of his favorite Pablo Neruda poems.
- How mad are people who have Keston Hiura on their roster? 19 runs for Brewers. Nothing for Hiura.
- Well, my 2019 bold prediction came true, just a year late. Corbin Burnes is the ace of the staff. 7 IP, 1 H, 11 K. **Psst, it was the Tigers.** Get outta my ear. I said what I said.
- How many were suckered back in by Matthew Boyd? Three IP, seven ER.
- Carlos Carrasco, you’re supposed to order run support at least 12 hours ahead of time. (7 IP, 1 ER, 6 K).
- Nicky Lopez, 5-for-5. Awesome. Wait. What does CS mean?
- My man. Edward Olivares continues to hide in shadows. Maybe with more comfort, he’ll do better than a 7.7% Brls/BBE. Still one of my late-round options for 2021.
- What will keep Clint Frazier from being an OF3 in 2021? Playing time & that he’s outperforming all his expected stats. Also, a little help in 29% K rate would be nice. Still tons of upside.
- Gleyber Torres (two HR), you know that was the Blue Jays, not the O’s, right?
- Jeff McNeil is sorrowful for how you were treated. For four-straight days, he’s brought you a HR bouquet.
- You need SB, but leadoff man Cedric Mullins is only 1% rostered. {Insert my dumbfounded look here}
- Ah, so that’s why someone bid $100 more than me on Deivi Garcia (7 IP, 2 ER, 6 K).
- Dane Dunning unimpressed with Pirates (6 IP, 3 K).
- James McCann (five) sends out two blasts of frustration at the disrespect of bringing in Grandal.
- I see you haven’t heeded my advice ‘Ride the Hot Hand.’ DJ Stewart is still only 7% rostered. So you’ve missed out on even a taste of the five HR in four-straight days. Don’t even try to blame your inactivity to his 15.9% SwingStrike rate.
- Find your 2021 value in the Mets. Pete Alonso (11 HR) won’t cost as much. Michael Conforto is ALWAYS a value (429-ft tater(eight)). Andres Gimenez will still be a hidden gem (28.7 ft/sec sprint speed).
- 13-run lead & you can’t make it five innings, Tommy Milone? C’mon Man.
- How chill is Ozzie Albies, walking back into the locker room carrying a Zaxby’s combo meal with a big ‘ol sweet tea. (Second HR, first SB).
- No man should be treated like that. 2.2 IP, 12 ER. Jordan Yamamoto, try a few bags of frozen peas.
- Adam Duvall was intent upon making grand changes to your place in the standings. 5 R, 3 HR, 9 RBI. Yes, I’m jealous.
- If this is truly 2020, you’ll let a catcher (Isiah Kiner-Falefa (eight)) lead MLB in SB.
- I wanted the power/speed to work again, but it is finally time to tap out on Rougned Odor. Am I the last one out?
- Guess who dominates but won’t be a top-six selection in 2021. Probably whoever you said too. I’m referring to Trevor Story (10 HR, 13 SB, .292 AVG).
- Cody Bellinger, I’m not going to say anything. I’ll give you one day to do something differently.
- Mike Moustakas dropped one just over the 400-foot marker for only his fourth long ball. But who is keeping excruciatingly close track?
- Alex Bregman is back. That’s the message. He’s not on any of my teams so there will be no clogging from me.
- On the tombstone of all my 2020 rosters, I want it to read, “He will believe in Mike Yastryzemski in 2021."
- Endgame
- Greg Holland (three).
- Aroldis Chapman with a clean three-strikeout inning.
- Edwin Diaz (three).
- Bryse Wilson (one)
- Trevor Rosenthal (nine)
- Raisel Iglesias (six).
- Blake Treinen (one)
- Kevin Ginkel (0.1, 1 ER). Hmm.
- It's Thursday & you're cruising through another week. You might be so focused on the work you're doing that you neglect those that are not in your day-to-day life. Reach out & make sure everyone is ok.
- No, it's not bad to focus on 2021. Just don't punt 2020.
- (No Fear, Just Fantasy)
