Welcome to the August 25th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on August 24th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Is anyone still holding the med bag tightly? Blake Snell up to 101 pitches (5.2 IP, 2 ER, 9 K). We like it.
- Nelson Cruz opens his Masterclass. Join us as he teaches you to master The Art of the Long Ball.
- Randal Grichuk’s 42.9% pull rate gives us a 348-foot tater (seven). You have to do Sphinx pose to help that back though.
- A seven-game hit streak for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Now gently place a few over the wall, please.
- If the position wasn’t loaded, Willy Adames (three HR) would get more love.
- Mighty Jon Berti announces “Go see Jonathan Villar (eight) if you want speed. I’m here for the Power Show (one)."
- Did Adam Eaton (second HR) want to drive an 18-wheeler when he grew up?
- The disrespect is outrageous. Pablo Lopez (1.98 ERA, 2.40 FIP, 17.4% K-BB) is only 48% rostered.
- David Bote (fourth HR), send your Thank You card to Detroit, “c/o Casey Mize"
- Yeah, he’s behind, but the swagger makes Javier Baez’ fourth & fifth long balls look like he leads MLB.
- Miguel Cabrera, I know it’s hard. But you can’t hold on forever (.186 AVG).
- Alec Mills is back…hurry to get him back on your roster. Woah, hold your horses
- Cesar Hernandez will only hit homers if it is leading off the game. Two-straight.
- I’ll take that 6 IP, 3 ER, 8 K vs MIN, Aaron Civale. Thank you. Now do your two-step (STL).
- Miguel Sano heaves another one (six). Batting .462 in the last seven games. Don’t worry, the 38% K rate is still there.
- Big Beardy Lance Lynn is like old faithful. 6 IP, 2 ER, 8 K. He befuddled the Matt duo (three K apiece).
- The kindness continues cause he's that kinda fella. Isiah Kiner-Falefa chips in a homer to go with his five SB from the catcher spot.
- Stop and give love to Leody Taveras for making it to the big leagues & getting his first hit.
- Justin Smoak (five) & Omar Narvaez (one) retaliates for Bauer drinking a nice cold bud on mound celebrating his eight strikeouts.
- Who sat Jack Flaherty?! Not me, 64 pitches gets 5 IP, 3 K & a W.
- Did you really think Brad Keller would maintain a 0.00 ERA the whole year? He may be from Snellville, but he’s not Snell-like.
- Jorge Soler flares (seven) are too bright. 443-footer.
- Psst. Harrison Bader is hitting .333 w/ two HR in last seven games. He’s only 2% rostered.
- When you let Kyle Tucker (five) out of the box, he comes with the bare-handed THUNDAH!
- Jose Altuve, I like donuts just as much as the next guy, but damn. 0 HR, 0 SB in lat 15 games.
- Whew. Good news for George Springer injury.
- Another exotic spin on the merry-go-round for Trevor Story (nine).
- Endgame
- Jordan Romano (two). Turn, Squat, Throw. The form is impeccable.
- Brandon Kintzler (six).
- Rafael Montero (six). Made me sweat, though.
- Taylor Rogers (seven).
- Daniel Bard (two).
- Josh Hader (six). Has his save total and 13 K been worth the price?
- Have a great Tuesday everyone. Take your phone and computer out to your porch, balcony, or deck. Change your venue. Change your perspective. Add a little variety to your life. Enjoy it all.
