2 years agoUtah Jazz forward Jarred Vanderbilt has been a trade target for multiple teams, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report. On his podcast Please Don't Aggregate This, Fischer stated, "A lot of teams have called on Jarred Vanderbilt. I don't know the number. I don't really have any specific teams that I've heard of. But last I talked to Utah, he was the guy who's getting the most calls, the most incoming calls of all the players." Vanderbilt was traded to Utah in the blockbuster deal that sent Rudy Gobert to Minnesota. The 23-year-old averaged 6.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals over 25.4 minutes per game with the Timberwolves in 2021-22.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Jake Fischer

2 years agoHouston Rockets guard/forward Eric Gordon is projected to be in the starting five heading into next season, according to Kelly Iko. The veteran forward has been rumored to be on the move this offseason. A trade does make sense considering the Rockets are in the middle of a rebuild. Although, it could be tough to move Gordon considering his long injury history. That being said, the Rockets might decide to keep Gordon and have him play alongside their young guards. His fantasy value is likely to increase next to Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green. Possibly, Gordon is someone worth snagging in the late rounds on draft day. There is still a long way to go before the season begins, so we'll see if Gordon is still on the roster in a month.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic

2 years agoDallas Mavericks guard Josh Green is working to improve his ball-handling and three-point shot this offseason. The 21-year-old did look solid at times with his corner three, but he eventually fell out of the rotation. There is upside in his game, and working with famed trainer Joe Abunassar should improve his game. Also, Jalen Brunson has moved on this offseason, so there should be minutes available in the rotation. Green could impress the organization and earn himself consistent playing time. Fantasy managers shouldn't count on Green being reliable, but he might earn himself a role off the bench.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Alex Kennedy

2 years agoDenver Nuggets guard Bones Hyland has reportedly put on six pounds of muscle this offseason. The 21-year-old has been working out twice as a day as he prepares for a bigger role with the team next season. The departure of Will Barton should open up plenty of minutes for other players. Most notably, Monte Morris and Hyland are expected to get plenty of minutes at the one and two spots. It's also worth noting that the Nuggets are likely going to take slow with Jamal Murray. All these things could add up to Hyland getting quality minutes in Denver next season. Although, fantasy managers should wait and see how Mike Malone draws up his rotations before getting too excited. Hyland might be someone worth grabbing early off the waiver wire, assuming he gets a consistent role.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: HoopsHype

2 years agoVeteran Puerto Rican guard J.J. Barea has announced his retirement from professional basketball. The 38-year-old spent a total of 14 seasons in the NBA, playing for the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves. He helped the Mavericks capture the franchise's first ever NBA title in 2011. Barea was waived by the Mavericks in 2020, then spent the 2021-22 season playing for Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico. As a fan favorite in Dallas, there's some speculation that he could wind up joining the Mavericks' coaching staff in the near future.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Sports Illustrated

2 years agoThe Los Angeles Lakers were reportedly inquiring about Indiana Pacers guard Buddy Hield earlier this offseason. Talks between the two teams had slowed down, but according to NBA reporter Dave McMenamin, the two parties have re-engaged in discussions lately. Hield is currently on contract for the next two seasons and he's due nearly $40 million over the two-year stretch. He split the 2021-22 season between the Pacers and Sacramento Kings and averaged 15.6 points per game while shooting 36.6% from three-point range. He'd be a logical replacement for Malik Monk, who signed with the Kings this offseason.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBC Sports

2 years agoSerbian guard Vasilije Micic, who had been reportedly receiving interest from multiple NBA squads, has chosen to remain with his Turkish team Anadolu Efes for the upcoming season. The 6'5" guard had a fantastic 2021-22 season with Anadolu Efes, averaging 18.2 points, 5.8 assists and 2.6 three-pointers per game in Turkish Super League play. The Oklahoma City Thunder currently have the rights to Micic, but if the 28-year-old were to make a move to the NBA at some point soon, he'd likely be seeking to join a competitor.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: HoopsHype

2 years agoThe Golden State Warriors have signed point guard Mac McClung to a one-year deal. According to Shams Charania, the contract is a standard, non-guaranteed deal. The 23-year-old was part of the Warriors' Summer League team this year. He played in five games and averaged 13.4 points and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 45.6% from the field. McClung went undrafted in 2021, but wound up earning contracts with both the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers last year, appearing in one game for each team.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Bleacher Report

2 years agoIndiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard signed a surprisingly large deal with the organization on Wednesday. The No. 31 pick will get a four-year deal worth $8.6 million. Nembhard will get $6.4 million guaranteed, which is the most ever for a player selected in the second round. The 22-year-old looked fairly decent during five Summer League games. Despite that, Nembhard should be the third-string point guard in Indiana. Stud guard Tyrese Haliburton will get the majority of the minutes, with T.J. McConnell backing him up. Nembhard could get a few minutes off the bench, but it's unlikely to be enough to warrant rostering him in fantasy.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Indy Star

2 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers guard James Harden has officially agreed to a new deal with the organization. On Wednesday, the two sides came to terms on a two-year $68.8 million deal. This includes a player option, so Harden has the opportunity to move right back into free agency next summer. This seems like a lot of money, but Harden took around a $15 million paycut by taking this deal. The All-Star guard did this in order for the Sixers to be able to bolster their roster this offseason. It appears Harden is fully committed to winning a championship. He fit right into Philly's scheme last season, so fantasy managers should expect Harden to continue succeeding in 2022.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Adrian Wojnarowski

2 years agoPortland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (shoulder) will not require surgery, which is a huge break for the rookie. The No. 7 overall pick was diagnosed with a small labral tear in his left shoulder on July 9. After that, Sharpe was held out of the rest of the Summer League. On Wednesday, the team announced that Sharpe won't need surgery, so he should be available for training camp. The 19-year-old should be a key piece off the bench for the Blazers next season. Hopefully, this injury doesn't linger, but this injury could drop his draft stock.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

2 years agoCharlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges was charged with three felony charges on Tuesday. The 24-year-old has decided to plead not guilty to all three charges on Wednesday. He was initially arrested in Los Angeles on June 29th after getting into an altercation with his child's mother. Bridges is being charged with domestic violence and child abuse after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in front of his children. Both the NBA and the Hornets organization are conducting their own investigations. If Bridges is found guilty, the NBA can suspend him for the foreseeable future. Otherwise, the NBA can't suspend Bridges, assuming he is found not guilty. Regardless, it's tough to imagine Bridges suiting up on an NBA court anytime soon.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoFrench forward Sidy Cissoko has signed a one-year contract with the NBA's G League Ignite. The 18-year-old is currently projected to be a late first round pick in the 2023 NBA draft. He's regarded as one of the top international players in the draft class. Cissoko stands 6'6" and offers an intriguing skill set as he moves well with the ball and is a phenomenal athlete. We've seen a number of players opt to take the G League Ignite route in recent years and the results have been mixed. Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga and Dyson Daniels all wound up being top-10 picks after their season with the Ignite, but Jaden Hardy -- originally projected to go top-10 -- fell out of the first round entirely in this past year's draft after struggling with the Ignite.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Bleacher Report

2 years agoThe Washington Wizards and power forward/center Taj Gibson have officially agreed to a one-year contract worth a fully-guaranteed $2.91 million. It was widely known that Gibson would be landing with the Wizards this offseason, but the official signing was delayed while Gibson was in Brazil attending the wedding of Joakim Noah. The 37-year-old veteran spent the last three seasons playing for the New York Knicks. Last year, he averaged 4.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game over 18.2 minutes per contest. He will join a crowded Wizards frontcourt that includes Kristaps Porzingis, Kyle Kuzma, Rui Hachimura and Daniel Gafford.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Washington Wizards

2 years agoThe Utah Jazz have been talking to opposing teams to gauge trade interest on veteran guard Mike Conley, according to Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune. Jones also stated that it's unclear what kind of market there is for Conley at this moment -- if there's one at all. The 34-year-old has two years and about $45 million left on his current contract. Last year, he took a step back as he averaged 13.7 points per game -- the lowest he's averaged since 2011-12. He also averaged 5.3 assists per game while shooting 43.5% from the field.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Bleacher Report
