2 years agoThe Oklahoma City Thunder have signed forward Kenrich Williams to a four-year extension. He has spent each of the last two seasons with OKC. He has played fairly well in a limited role, so the Thunder will keep him around. They've decided to give him a four-year deal worth $27.7 million. Williams has mentioned he wants to retire with the Thunder, so he might get his wish. This team doesn't appear to have any desire to compete next season, so Williams might see consistent playing time. Regardless, it's tough to imagine Williams having reliable fantasy value in OKC.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Adrian Wojnarowski

2 years agoMilwaukee Bucks forward Sandro Mamukelashvili had a fantastic Summer League and was rewarded by being included in the 2022 All-Summer League First Team. Over five games in Las Vegas, he averaged 17 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting a remarkable 47.6% from three-point range. The 6'9" 23-year-old is currently entering the second year of his two-year, two-way contract with the Bucks. He averaged just 9.9 minutes per game in the 41 NBA games he appeared in last year. The highlight of his season came in the team's final game when he scored 28 points and added 13 boards over 43 minutes. He'll likely see minimal playing time once again this year unless the team suffers some key injuries.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA Communications

2 years agoHouston Rockets forward Tari Eason was named to the 2022 All-Summer League First Team after a stellar performance in Las Vegas. He played in all five of the team's games and averaged 17.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 44.7% from the field. Eason was selected with the 17th overall pick in this year's draft. The 21-year-old was a jack of all trades at LSU last season, averaging 16.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. With the rebuilding Rockets, he has a chance to see around 20 minutes per game this year and is someone worth keeping on your radar for fantasy purposes.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA Communications

2 years agoOklahoma City Thunder guard/forward Jalen Williams flashed some nice versatility at the Las Vegas Summer League this past week and a half. He played in four of the team's five games and averaged 10.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Willams was selected 12th overall in this year's draft after playing three years of college basketball at Santa Clara. The 21-year-old has a chance to be part of the Thunder's rotation by day one of the 2022-23 season, making him an interesting player to watch for fantasy purposes.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

2 years agoIndiana Pacers guard/forward Bennedict Mathurin (toe) has been named to the 2022 All-Summer League Second Team. The 20-year-old only managed to play in three games before the team shut him down with a sore left big toe. However, he played well enough in those three games to earn second team honors. He averaged 19.3 points per game in Summer League play while shooting 48.8% from the field. Mathurin was taken with the sixth overall pick in this year's draft and figures to see a good amount of playing time out of the gate this year. He's a solid target to have on your radar at the end of fantasy drafts.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA Communications

2 years agoCharlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball has announced that he will change his jersey number from No. 2 to No. 1 for next season. The 20-year-old All-Star hinted at this jersey change at the end of last year. Following the team's play-in game loss to the Atlanta Hawks, he stated, "I ain't never supposed to wear 2 again in my life." Ball turned in a remarkable sophomore year in 2021-22, averaging 20.1 points, 7.6 assists, 2.9 three-pointers and 1.6 steals per game. He should be taken near the end of the first round or at the start of the second round in fantasy drafts this fall as he could have an even bigger year in store for 2022-23.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Shams Charania

2 years agoSacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray has been named the 2022 Summer League MVP. The 21-year-old had an extremely productive Summer League, averaging 23.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field and 40% from three-point range. Murray was taken with the fourth overall pick in this year's draft. The Kings were widely ridiculed for the selection as they passed on Purdue guard Jaden Ivey to make the pick -- Ivey was almost unanimously considered a top four overall prospect in the draft. Murray should be in line for a lot of minutes as a rookie in 2022-23 and is a great target in the mid-to-late rounds of fantasy drafts.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA Communications

2 years agoTwenty-three-year-old guard/forward Ignas Brazdeikis is currently a free agent. While staying in the NBA remains his priority, he is currently being pursued by multiple EuroLeague teams. According to sources of BasketNews, Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz of Spain and Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania are interested in signing the Lithuanian-Canadian swingman. Brazdeikis has played for three different NBA franchises since entering the league during the 2019-2020 season. Last year, he played in 42 games for the Orlando Magic and averaged 5.0 points per game while shooting 43.1% from the field.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: BasketNews

2 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans forward John Butler Jr. ended the Summer League on a high note with an epic performance on Sunday. The young forward went 9-for-9 from the floor with 25 points, seven rebounds, and knocked down seven triples in the victory. This was by far his best performance of the Summer League. Despite that, Butler isn't expected to make the Pelicans roster to begin the season. Possibly, Butler gets a chance at the NBA level at some point this season. He's expected to spend a majority of next season in the G-League.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: SI.com

2 years agoGolden State Warriors center James Wiseman put together a solid performance during the Summer League finale on Sunday. The young center finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists in 19 minutes. This game marked the fourth straight contest that Wiseman has been able to suit up. That is the most contests Wiseman has played in a row since early in his rookie campaign. The Warriors are likely going to be cautious with the young center early in the season. However, Wiseman could turn into a reliable fantasy option, assuming he can actually stay healthy.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

2 years agoMiami Heat guard Tyler Herro could very well become a restricted free agent next summer. The organization is currently not discussing a current extension with Herro. The two sides have until opening night to agree on a new contract. The Heat are most likely holding off on an extension in case of a possible trade. Both Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell could be options for the Heat this summer. That being said, Herro would likely be part of the trade for either Durant or Mitchell. The fact they aren't discussing an extension with Herro means they likely aren't done making moves.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Miami Herald

2 years agoUtah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell is on the trade block after it was reported the organization is now willing to listen to offers. Many clubs are undoubtedly interested. Yet, Mitchell's hefty price tag narrows the list of potential suitors. However, with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving still in Brooklyn, there have been rumblings about a possible swap between the teams. The Nets have inquired about the superstar already. But that was back when Utah wasn't looking to move him. Nevertheless, acquiring players like Durant or Irving would satisfy Utah's demand for a comparable return. Still, no matter where Mitchell plays, he'll remain an attractive fantasy option in all formats heading into the 2022-23 season.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Justin Grasso

2 years agoThe Utah Jazz have signed Italian forward Simone Fontecchio to a two-year deal worth $6.25 million guaranteed. The 26-year-old spent the last year playing for Baskonia in the Spanish ACB league. Over 33 league games, he averaged 12.4 points per contest while shooting 41% from three-point range on 4.7 three-point attempts per game. He made his professional debut when he was just 17 years old and he earned a number of accolades while playing professionally in the Italian LBA league. He also gained attention during the 2020 Summer Olympics when he helped Italy reach the quarterfinals.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Adrian Wojnarowski

2 years agoThe Denver Nuggets have signed Australian forward Jack White to a two-way contract. The 24-year-old has had a strong Summer League with the team. Over his first four games, he averaged 8.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 70% from the field. He played four years of college basketball at Duke, then went on to play professionally in Australia after going undrafted in 2020. He helped his team Melbourne United win an NBL title in 2021.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Adrian Wojnarowski

2 years agoIndiana Pacers guard Aaron Nesmith struggled immensely in his final Summer League game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. He shot 1-for-9 from the field -- including 1-for-6 from three-point range -- as he scored just five points. In addition to his rough shooting performance, he also committed six personal fouls and turned the ball over five times. Nesmith was traded to the Pacers in the blockbuster deal that sent Malcolm Brogdon to the Boston Celtics. After seeing little playing time in his first two NBA seasons, Nesmith will be looking for a fresh start in Indiana this year.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com
