2 years agoNew York Knicks guard Quentin Grimes scored a team-high 19 points on Sunday as the Knicks fell to the Portland Trail Blazers in the Summer League championship game. It wasn't his most efficient game of the tournament as he shot just 5-for-16 from the field and 2-for-11 from three-point range. He compiled three rebounds, three assists and a steal in the contest. Grimes had a strong Summer League overall, averaging 22.6 points per game across his five outings. He led the team in scoring in all but one game. The 22-year-old should see his minutes increased in his sophomore year in the league this year, though we could still see some major changes made to the Knicks' roster before the season gets underway.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

2 years agoPortland Trail Blazers forward Trendon Watford helped lead the team to an 85-77 victory in the Summer League championship game on Sunday. He was named the Championship Game MVP for his efforts as he compiled 19 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block. He shot 7-for-15 from the field and 3-for-6 from three-point range in the game. Watford went undrafted out of LSU in 2021, but went on to play in 48 games with the Blazers last year. He showed some promising flashes as he averaged 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 53.2% from the field. He should be a part of the team's rotation for the 2022-23 season.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA

2 years agoWashington Wizards rookie guard Johnny Davis (back) sat out the team's final two Summer League games due to lower back tightness. It's unclear at this moment whether the team is being extra cautious with him or if it's an injury that could linger. Davis had a rough Summer League showing overall. He shot just 8-for-29 from the field over the three games he played in and had a total of eight turnovers compared with just five assists. The former Wisconsin Badger was selected 10th overall in this year's draft. He has a chance to see some decent minutes this year if he can put together a solid training camp and preseason, but he'll need to push past his rough Summer League performance.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Washington Wizards

2 years agoBoston Celtics guard Juhann Begarin had an impressive showing at this year's Summer League in Las Vegas. He started all five games for the team and averaged 18.2 points per contest. He had his best all-around game in the team's final Summer League matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. He shot 9-for-17 from the field in the game and scored a team-high 25 points while adding seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and three three-pointers. The 6'5" Frenchman was a second round pick of the Celtics in 2021. He played for Paris Basketball of the French LNB Pro B league each of the last three seasons. This year, he will likely primarily play for the Celtics' G League affiliate, the Maine Celtics.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

2 years agoBrooklyn Nets guard David Duke Jr. closed out a productive Summer League by scoring 24 points in Saturday's contest against the Boston Celtics. He shot 9-for-16 from the field in the game and also added five rebounds, five assists, one three-pointer, one steal and one block. Duke started each of the team's five Summer League games and averaged 19 points per game across the tournament. The 22-year-old out of Providence made his NBA debut with the Nets last year while the team was hampered by injuries and a certain guard's home court ineligibility. He appeared in 22 games last year and averaged 4.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 36.1% from the field.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

2 years agoLos Angeles Lakers forward Shareef O'Neal logged just nine minutes in the team's Summer League finale against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. He shot 3-for-5 from the field in the game and compiled six points, three rebounds and one assist. It was a quiet Summer League for the son of Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal. He played in four of the team's five games and averaged just 4.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest. He is currently unsigned and looking to earn an NBA contract. He went undrafted in this year's draft after averaging just 2.9 points per game at LSU in 2021-22.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

2 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guard Scotty Pippen Jr. had a strong all-around game in the team's Summer League finale against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. He logged 18 minutes and compiled 11 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block while shooting 5-for-11 from the field and 1-for-3 from three-point range. It was a productive Summer League for Pippen, who scored in double figures in four of five games while averaging 2.6 steals per contest. The 21-year-old went undrafted in this year's draft, but he signed a two-way contract with the Lakers. He'll likely begin the 2022-23 season playing for the team's G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

He led all scorers with 26 points in the game while also adding seven rebounds, six assists, four three-pointers and three blocks. Allman struggled with his shot throughout Summer League play and those struggles continued on Saturday as he shot just 8-for-21 from the field. The 24-year-old is currently playing in the French league LNB Pro A, but is looking to earn his first NBA contract.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

In his final game against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday, he compiled 18 points, four rebounds, four blocks and two-three pointers while shooting 8-for-12 from the field. Kabengele has played in a total of 51 NBA games for the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers. 2 years agoBrooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas finished Summer League by dropping 25 points on the Boston Celtics. Thomas has arguably been the most impactful performer in the Las Vegas circuit. It's no surprise considering he had some strong showings as a rookie last season by averaging 21 points in two starts. Nonetheless, the 20-year-old is destined for a consistent role with the big club this season, so he should see some interest in deep fantasy formats. However, his shoddy shooting numbers may negatively impact category managers.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers guard Grant Riller had another strong showing, finishing with 19 points during the Summer League loss to Chicago. The 25-year-old is certainly making a case to earn a contract somewhere in 2022-23, especially after he posted a game-high 18 points against Denver on Friday night. He has experience at the professional level. However, he won't see any interest from the fantasy community unless he earns a consistent gig this season.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoChicago Bulls center Marko Simonovic had 26 points in 28 minutes during the win over Philadelphia on Saturday in Las Vegas. The 2020 second-round pick looked good, going 11-for-15 from the field. He also had eight rebounds, one steal, and one block. Overall, the 22-year-old has played well enough throughout Summer League to earn some more minutes at the professional level. He's in better shape, so the Bulls may be knocking at his door for a big body come the regular season. As a result, Simonovic is worth consideration from dynasty managers, even if it takes him a few years to carve out a consistent role.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoChicago Bulls guard Dalen Terry (hamstring) saw only 10 minutes of action during Saturday's Summer League clash with Philadelphia before exiting due to a right hamstring injury. Fortunately, the Bulls are done for the remainder of the summer, although the team isn't sure of the severity of the ailment. Hopefully, it's nothing serious, and he'll be ready for training camp. Nonetheless, the No. 18 overall selection of the 2022 NBA Draft has some work to do entering the regular season, especially since turnovers were a theme throughout his time in Las Vegas. However, Terry did average 14 points while shooting 56.3% from the field, so at least he has that going for him.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoHouston Rockets forward Tari Eason had 19 points on 50% shooting from the field and deep during the loss to Sacramento in Summer League on Saturday. The No. 17 overall pick finished with a double-double, compiling 10 rebounds to add to his scoring output. He also displayed his defensive prowess by accumulating two steals. Nonetheless, Eason may not earn consistent work immediately this year. However, if Eric Gordon is traded and injuries pop up on the roster, he could enter the starting lineup, giving him ample opportunity to make noise here and there on the fantasy end in 2022-23.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoSacramento Kings guard Jared Rhoden finished with 15 points during the win over Houston in Las Vegas. The former Seton Hall Pirate shot 6-for-13 from the field, including netting two of his four tries from downtown while throwing in seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block. Rhoden was looking to make a statement in Summer League on Saturday. However, despite his intentions, he isn't someone worth watching from a fantasy standpoint.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
