3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler is listed as the team's probable starter on Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Wheeler has made only two starts this season after dealing with right shoulder soreness during the offseason and spring training. Wheeler has not looked the same so far in 2022 after posting a career-low 2.78 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP, a career-best 29.1% strikeout rate, and a 5.4% walk rate over 213 1/3 innings pitched in 2021. Over his two starts in 2022, Wheeler has posted an unsightly 9.39 ERA, 1.83 WHIP, and a 6:4 K:BB in 7 2/3IP.
