Giancarlo Stanton To Begin Rehab Assignment Saturday
2 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (Achilles) is expected to start a minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Saturday, according to skipper Aaron Boone. It means that Stanton could rejoin the struggling Yankees lineup as early as next week. He's been out since July 23 and although he's hit just .228 on the season, his return will inject some much-needed injury for the Bronx Bombers. The 32-year-old is a must-start in fantasy lineups when he's on the field, as he's also racked up 24 home runs, 61 RBI and 40 runs scored in 289 at-bats on the year before his injury. There's a chance the Yankees ease Stanton back and use him as the designated hitter when he initially returns from the injured list.
