2 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 2-for-5 with a home run, double, a run scored and three RBI in the team's 7-2 win over the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night. With the performance, Alonso became the fastest player in franchise history to record 100 RBI in a single season. The 27-year-old has tormented the Phillies this year and is now batting .275/.352/.529 with an .881 OPS, 30 long balls, 102 RBI, 68 runs scored and three stolen bases in 444 at-bats. Since the All-Star break, he's hitting .310 (31-for-100) with six homers, 24 RBI, 18 runs scored and a stolen base in 27 games. Alonso is a big reason why the Mets remain in first place in the National League East division.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
