Luis Severino Throws Live BP Tuesday
2 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (lat) threw a live batting practice session against outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (Achilles) on Tuesday. Severino tossed 24 pitches during the session, and his fastball sat between 95 and 97 mph. The 28-year-old suffered a low-grade lat strain in his start on July 13, and he was recently moved to the 60-day injured list. There isn't much time left in the 2022 season for him to make much of a fantasy impact, but barring any setbacks, Severino is expected to rejoin New York's starting rotation in the middle of September. Domingo German has stepped into the rotation with Severino sidelined. In 16 starts this year, Severino has gone 5-3 with a 3.45 ERA (4.03 FIP), 1.07 WHIP, 95 strikeouts and 25 walks in 86 innings.
