The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired 5-time All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki from the Colorado Rockies, according to a report from CBS Sports. This will boost an already league-leading offensive squad in Toronto.
BREAKING: Tulo traded to #BlueJays.

Tulowitzki, 30, was a former first-round pick who had spent his entire career in the Rockies system. The star shortstop had expressed the desire to be dealt in recent years due to a continuous culture of losing in Colorado. Now, his wish has been granted. Tulo will join a Jays offensive powerhouse that already leads the league in runs scored and OPS. He is sporting a .300/.348/.471 slash line with 19 doubles, 12 homers and 53 RBI.
Toronto is 7 games back in the AL East and only 3 games behind the Houston Astros in the AL Wild Card race. Many thought that the club would address its many needs for pitching. On the contrary it seems that a dominant offense will continue to be the backbone of Toronto's push for a playoff spot.
News of the trade was first reported by Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.
UPDATE: Toronto will reportedly send SS Jose Reyes to the Rockies as well as some minor league prospects. RHP and reliever LaTroy Hawkins will also be sent to Toronto as part of the deal.
Deal as we know it right now: Tulo and LaTroy Hawkins to #BlueJays for Jose Reyes and minor leaguers. Do not know financial terms, if any.
