Jared Cook (TE, STL) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add as Backup TE in 12+ Team PPR Leagues

OWNED IN: 19% of Fleaflicker Leagues

ANALYSIS: Jared Cook is a physical freak. At 6'5" and 254 lbs with some speed, he can be a true matchup nightmare. Unfortunately, he hasn't quite realized this potential so far in his NFL career. He tends to flash the talent in one big game every year and then disappoints. So many readers may ask, "why add him?" Here's why.

For one thing, the upside is there and he's worth taking a flier on for a BYE week or an injury replacement. Cook's strong Week 1 performance came against the vaunted Seahawk defense. He also seems like he will have some consistent QB play this year from Nick Foles.

That's no knock on Sam Bradford, it's just he wasn't around enough to truly build a rapport with Cook. It's also not like Foles has many better options to throw the ball to. So look for the Rams to try and get the ball to Cook, particularly in the endzone. If you're in a deeper PPR league, don't love your TE option, or are looking for a backup to stash, feel free to add Cook off the waiver wire.
