ANALYSIS: The Detroit Lions' running game is a mess right now. It's bad news for them and their fans, but good news for those of you who have Theo Riddick available in your fantasy leagues. Joique Bell's injury opened up the door for Ameer Abdullah, but he seemed to have quickly shut it on himself. Abdullah now appears to be in Coach Caldwell's doghouse after fumbling once (almost twice) on Sunday. Zach Zenner took over the early down duties, but Theo Riddick has been the constant in the backfield so far this season. Now with the rest of the options of tailback being a giant question mark, Riddick could carve out a bigger role for himself.

Riddick racks up the receptions, and has been one of Stafford's go-to guys on passing downs. Needless to say this gives him tremendous value in PPR leagues. Even in deeper standard leagues, Riddick is a nice bet for some guaranteed touches. Detroit will be down in a lot of games the way they're playing now so Riddick will be heavily utilized once Stafford is forced to air it out. Abdullah is still the most talented back on the depth chart, and could eventually have everything click for him. However that seems like a big "if" right now, and Riddick seems to be firmly entrenched in the Shane Vereen role for Detroit.
