Buster Posey is Still Fantasy Baseball's Top Catcher

Catcher is the weakest position in fantasy baseball, but that fact doesn't hurt San Francisco Giants backstop Buster Posey. In fact, the dearth of quality options makes Posey even more attractive. His last two seasons have been remarkably consistent. He hit .311 with 22 home runs and 89 RBIs in 2014 and followed it up by hitting .318 with 19 home runs and 95 RBIs last season. He also increased his walks while decreasing his strikeouts over that span.

There will likely be catchers that finish with more home runs than Posey this season (Kyle Schwarber and Brian McCann come to mind), but Posey is a strong bet to lead the position in batting average and RBIs. Posey, who played 42 games at first base last season, also has first base eligibility. That added roster flexibility is another perk on top of an already sterling resume. Posey should be taken among the first two or three rounds in all drafts.
