Mitch Keller To Remain With Pirates All Season
5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starter Mitch Keller is taking the hill Monday versus the Angels for his first start in the majors since June 18, and he will be in the majors to stay. Manager Clint Hurdle stated it "is our intention" to keep their young hurler in the rotation for the remainder of the season as they want to get him more big-league experience going into next season. Keller is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and is worth a speculative add in deeper mixed leagues. He owns a 3.56 ERA with 123 strikeouts in 103.2 innings at Triple-A, but hasn't found his groove through his first three starts in the bigs. Keller's been roughed up for 14 runs in 12 IP, but he did manage to punch out 15 batters. The right-hander is a viable streamer for tonight's matchup versus a below-average Angels lineup.
