Mallex Smith Swipes A Pair In Win Friday
5 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mallex Smith upped his league-leading steal total to 36 with a pair of thefts Friday versus the Blue Jays. The speedster went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in the contest as he now holds a .235 batting average with five homers, 57 runs, and 33 RBI through 107 games this season. He continues to bat out of the leadoff spot, but his lowly .302 OBP hasn't given him as many opportunities on the basepaths like we hoped before the season started. Smith is keeping his fantasy value afloat with his legs, but isn't contributing much in the other roto categories. He has little to no value in points leagues and can be dropped in these formats.
