Darren Waller A Big Part Of More Aggressive Offense
5 years agoOakland Raiders tight end Darren Waller was mentioned in the same breath as Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams from head coach Jon Gruden on Tuesday. With an emphasis this season on the offense being more aggressive by throwing up more 50-50 balls, Waller is poised to thrive with this mentality. With the primary defensive focus on Brown and Williams, he'll see the majority of his coverage matched up against linebackers who he'll be able to beat in coverage with his 6'6" height and velcro hands. Waller is still going undrafted in shallower leagues and is shaping out as a draft-day steal if he can live up to his preseason hype. The former receiver from Georgia Tech has the highest upside among late-round tight ends, and could find himself returning TE1 value in 2019.
