4 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers have used the No. 89 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on Ohio State running back Trey Sermon. This is a nice landing spot for Sermon, as head coach Kyle Shanahan has shown he wants to run the ball in San Fran, and the addition of quarterback Trey Lance should help the passing game, forcing defenses to run lighter fronts against this team. Sermon's best season was in 2018 when he played for Oklahoma and he rushed for 947 yards and 13 touchdowns. He's not much of a pass-catcher, but he has good size and should be able to make plus plays. The 49ers have Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. at running back, but neither of those two has an unassailable grasp on the lead job.--Justin Carter - RotoBaller
