Nico Collins Could See Early Snaps For Texans
3 years agoHouston Texans rookie wide receiver Nico Collins -- a third-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft -- could see some early snaps this season, says Aaron Reiss of The Athletic. Reiss draws this conclusion from the shallowness of the Texans depth chart at wide receiver, which seems fairly wide-open after Brandin Cooks and Randall Cobb. Factor in that Texans general manager Nick Caserio traded up to get Collins and you can see why the first-year wideout could be on the field quickly. Collins didn't play last season, but had 37 catches for 729 yards in 2019 at Michigan. The 6'4'' receiver could provide a big body for whoever Houston's quarterback is and is worth a flyer in dynasty leagues and in 16-team redraft leagues, but there's no need to reach for him in shallower formats.
