3 years agoChicago Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner will rest on Tuesday versus the Cincinnati Reds. Hoerner has been in a bit of funk lately and is hitting .259 with five RBI over his last 54 at-bats. Hoerner got off to a hot start this year with the bat, but has struggled since returning from a hamstring injury on July 4. The Cubs appear to be in a complete rebuild and Hoerner should remain the starting second baseman moving forward. For the season, Hoerner is hitting .305 with 14 RBI. With Hoerner out of the lineup, David Bote will be at second base. Bote was activated on Sunday and this will be his third straight start. Bote will bat seventh versus rookie Vladimir Gutierrez and is a dart throw in DFS this evening. Bote is hitting .205 with six homers and 26 RBI this year.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
