Below you will find our Premium DFS value plays for 9/23/2021. These picks will target low-priced players who can help you build winning lineups for your DFS contests on FanDuel and DraftKings.
These are daily outlier value plays or lesser thought-of guys. They usually lay outside of the main pool of players that folks would be considering but could vary based on that day's games and lineups. These players can be low-cost with good matchups, surprise starters with good matchups, and very cheap players with good matchups.
We have two slates today and FanDuel and DraftKings chopped them up differently (of course) so I'm going to do my best to give you some values from both slates on both sites.
Value Plays for 9/21/2021
Jake Lamb (FD $2300, DK $2000) - 3B and Corey Dickerson (FD $2300, DK $2500) - OF, TOR vs. Michael Pineda - MAIN SLATE
Both these guys are cheap and should be in the lineup tonight against Pineda, who is a guy I like attacking as he's a fly-ball pitcher and is prone to allowing the long ball as a result. Both C-Dick and Lamb have two homers each off Pineda and some solid averages in their career. Stacking up the highest-priced Toronto bats can be tough, so consider grabbing some cheaper Jays as a way to get your exposure without having to totally punt the pitcher position.
Jack Mayfield - SS/3B, LAA vs. HOU (FD $2300, DK $2400) - MAIN SLATE
This little dude can hit and never seems to get a price increase. McCullers has some reverse splits tendencies so I like going after him with righties. Mayfield hits down in the order, but is in great form and is a solid contact hitter who isn't likely to strike out that often. Give him a look and don't sleep on the Angels entirely tonight as McCullers can be volatile.
Gavin Lux - 2B/SS/OF, LAD vs. Kyle Freeland (FD $3400, DK $2900) - EARLY SLATE
Lux has been rolling of late for the Dodgers and even though they are facing a lefty today, I think he will be in the lineup as Chris Taylor is fighting an injury and the Dodgers might keep going with the hot bat. Lux is eligible at both middle infield positions on FD but is only OF eligible on DK.
Kyle Farmer - SS, CIN vs. Patrick Corbin (DK $3800)
Farmer could move up in the order today for the Reds as they take on lefty Patrick Corbin. He's put up 30 DK points over his last two games and has been really solid all season as he worked his way into the lineup as an everyday player. This game is only on DraftKings, but I'm definitely interested in attacking Corbin in a great hitting environment.
Chris Bassitt - SP, OAK vs. SEA (FD $9300, DK $6100) - EARLY SLATE
This is a DK-only played as Bassitt is totally mispriced over there. Bassitt is making his first appearance since being struck by a line drive and knocked out of the game. He didn't make any rehab starts and is being tossed back in the rotation quickly as the Athletics are making one final push for that second wild-card spot. He could be affected by that traumatic experience of getting with a comebacker, or he could come out and pitch well - neither would surprise me. But this is a 9k pitcher that we can get for 6k today against a middling Seattle offense and I'm interested.
