Tyrod Taylor has emerged as a surprising star at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills and fantasy football fans. Taylor won the starting quarterback position in training camp and has been putting out impressive performances to start the regular season. Bad luck struck the rising star last week when Taylor suffered a sprained MCL in a big win over the Tennessee Titans.
Early reports indicated Taylor would be forced to miss a couple of weeks but nothing has been made official yet. Buffalo’s current plan is for the quarterback to go through treatment and rehab before making a decision on his status for Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Very few things in fantasy football are as rewarding as finding a great quarterback on the waiver wire so the news is that more difficult to accept. Taylor owners will need to plan early and look through the waiver wire once again for a new quarterback this week.
The Bills will start E.J. Manuel at quarterback if Taylor is unable to play. Given his past disappointments, no one can feel confident starting Manuel in fantasy until he proves otherwise. The change would also harm the value of Charles Clay, Percy Harvin and the returning Sammy Watkins. Both Buffalo running backs are still dealing with injuries as well making the Bills an official disaster for fantasy football.
