4 years agoLos Angeles Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons (ankle) is eligible to come off the injured list, but he isn’t ready to jump back into action just yet. Per manager Joe Maddon, Simmons’ return is not in “the too distant future,” signaling that he may be ready for a return at some point this week. How the Angels will shuffle their lineup remains to be seen, but David Fletcher figures to retain full-time playing duties regardless. Simmons has been quiet at the dish (.438 OPS, 19 OPS+) in the four games that he appeared in before an ankle injury shut him down. Season-long owners can likely look elsewhere for production with his return likely still a few days off.--Jesse Borek
