2 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Joe Barlow (finger) tossed 1 2/3 innings of relief during a minor league rehab outing for Double-A Frisco on Saturday. Manager Chris Woodward said that the right-hander, who was placed on the injured list with a right index finger blister on July 13, could be activated on Tuesday for the series opener against the Houston Astros. The 26-year-old right-hander has gone 1 2/3 frames in two of his three rehab outings, which could be a sign of things to come when he returns to the major league roster. Barlow was Texas' closer for most of the year, but he was removed from the role in early July, and Jonathan Hernandez has been the team's ninth-inning man of late. It looks like Barlow could return to a multi-inning relief role when he's activated this week.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
