We welcome Week 8 of the NFL season with open arms. Seattle, Kansas City, Green Bay, and Tennessee are all on the main slate and have some great options. Unfortunately, the Texans and the Jaguars get the week off and take some juicy matchups off the table, but there are still some right spots to fuel the high-scoring lineups.
As of this writing, four games have an over/under of at least 50 points. These are the contests DFS players will want to prioritize while building lineups. However, the Chiefs game versus the New York Jets is hovering around 49 points. Still, they are a 19.5 point favorite and sit with the highest implied team total of 34.25 points. Clyde Edwards-Helaire could find the endzone multiple times, or maybe his newest teammate will steal some of the work.

DFS Value Plays for Week 8
Quarterbacks
Jimmy Garoppolo - SF @ SEA ($5,400 DK, $6,600 FD)
Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers enter their Week 8 division clash with a banged-up offense. Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., and Deebo Samuel are all nursing injuries and will likely miss the Seattle Seahawks game. With most of their best ball carriers on the sidelines, it paves the way for a pass-heavy gameplan on Sunday.
Seattle sees 47 pass attempts against their defense per game this season. That is seven more than any other team in the league. On average, the Seahawks allow 373 passing yards per contest, while quarterbacks score 27.55 fantasy points per week. In the games Jimmy G has thrown more than 30 times, he is averaging 21.39 points per game. With an injury-riddled backfield and a superb matchup, fantasy managers can expect Garoppolo to return massive value on his 20th-highest salary at the quarterback position.
Running Backs
Le'Veon Bell - KC vs NYJ ($4,600 DK, $6,000 FD)
Fire up the revenge-narrative for Le'Veon Bell. The disgruntled running back faces his former employer in the New York Jets this week. Revenge games cannot be tracked or have any evidence to show they are something to bank on, but it's entertaining when it all comes together and makes for a great story.
Bell received six carries in his first game with his new team, the Kansas City Chiefs, and turned them into 39 yards. He also received two goal-line carries. That's a big deal because the Chiefs will win this game by many points and need to kill the clock somehow. There is a real possibility that the Chiefs are up by three touchdowns in the fourth quarter and decide to let Bell cook against his former team. The 28-year-old is not a building block in cash games, but he is worth a flyer in a tournament lineup or two. The back is only $4,600 on DraftKings, and with a few rushes plus a touchdown, he can hit the three-times value mark and boom in your lineup.
Zack Moss - BUF vs NE ($4,400 DK, $5,400 FD)
Josh Allen has led the Buffalo Bills in rushing in three of their seven games this season. A running back on the Bills has yet to crack the 80-yard mark in a game. All of that is a long way of saying that Devin Singletary is not having a productive sophomore season, and Zack Moss is coming for his role in the running game. The rookie outproduced the sophomore versus the New York Jets last week with 72 yards on 10 touches. Moss seems back from an early-season injury and is averaging 10.95 DraftKings points in games with at least 10 touches. He will see a similar, if not more significant, workload versus the New England Patriots this weekend.
Over the last four games, the Patriots are allowing 126.3 rushing yards per game. They let the 49ers to score four touchdowns on the ground last week, and things don't seem to be getting better. It was the fourth time in the previous five games a team has cracked 115 rushing yards versus that defense. Moss has an opportunity to build on a couple of encouraging performances and take hold of the Bills backfield with a good performance.
Wide Receivers
Nelson Agholor - LV @ CLE ($4,700 DK, $5,000 FD)
Agholor has entered the good graces of the fantasy community after his five catches for 107 yards and a touchdown versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7. It was his third-straight game with a score and his fourth on the season. His price has soared above $4,000 for the first time on DraftKings this season, but he is still a great play on Sunday versus the Cleveland Browns.
The Browns secondary is atrocious. They allow 53.56 points per game to opposing receivers over the last four weeks, and 10 wide receivers have at least racked up 50 yards. Last week, every receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals topped the half-century mark. There are too many ways to say that this secondary is not good. The matchup between the Raiders and the Browns has a 53.5 point over/under. A shootout is in the cards, and Agholor stands to benefit massively.
Marcus Johnson - IND @ DET ($3,000 DK, $4,500 FD)
Johnson jumped on the fantasy radar a couple of weeks ago against the Bengals. In Week 6, the journeyman receiver saw eight targets and caught five of them for 108 yards. He played a season-high 63 percent of the snaps while seeing 42.7 percent of the team's air yards. Johnson's stat line made him the first Indianapolis wide receiver to catch more than 75 yards in a game this season. Hopefully, the team returns from their bye week and realizes that Johnson gives them something they have been missing this year.
That would be fantastic news considering this week's opponent; the Detroit Lions. 6 receivers have seen at least eight targets versus that secondary and averaged 16.8 fantasy points per contest. The Lions allowed 200 yards or two touchdowns to wide receiving units in five of their last six games. Johnson can make his day with one deep catch on Sunday, and the minimum cost makes him a great addition to tournament lineups.
Tight Ends
Jonnu Smith - TEN @ CIN ($4,100 DK, $6,100 FD)
Geez, one injury and a bad week have everyone jumping off the Jonnu Smith bandwagon at DraftKings.Smith had 18 catches on 27 targets for 221 yards and five touchdowns in his first four games. Now, he finds himself as the 13th-most expensive tight end on the site despite scoring the sixth-most points at the position. Smith is in a great bounce-back spot against the Bengals this week and makes for a great cash game play with DK's pricing.
In their previous five games, the Bengals allow tight end units to average 6.6 catches for 72.2 yards. Last week, the Cleveland Browns attacked them mercilessly at that spot on the field. It allowed Harrison Bryant and David Njoku to combine for 76 yards and three touchdowns. Smith is more talented and part of a better offense. The Titans have an implied team total of 29.75 points in Week 8, and Smith has a great shot at finding the endzone.
